An animation festival with confirmed dates

ANIMA2026, the 15th Córdoba International Animation Festival, will take place in Córdoba from October 13 to 17, 2026, in an in-person format, according to the official rules published by the organizers.

The edition is organized by the Faculty of Arts of the National University of Córdoba through the Experimental Animation Center; the Animation Curricular Area of the National University of Villa María; and the Extension Secretariat of the National University of Córdoba.

What kinds of works it brings together

The official rules state that the festival includes animated works made with any technique, genre, subject, format or support. The call mentions works for cinema, video, television, the internet, smartphones, virtual reality, augmented reality and fulldome.

The planned categories include short films, student or graduation short films, animated music videos, animated series through pilot episodes, XR animation and Latin American feature films. That range shows a program open to different animation languages and supports.

Why it matters for Argentina’s audiovisual scene

Córdoba adds a federal angle: ANIMA is sustained by public university spaces and brings together training, creation and the circulation of animated work outside the Buenos Aires circuit.

The organizers state that the festival aims to support recognition of animation as an art form, generate exchange among participants and promote regional technological development. In an audiovisual scene shaped by screens, the internet, music and immersive experiences, the festival appears as a specific meeting point for that field.
