What was announced

Argentina’s National Transport Regulation Commission, CNRT, reported on October 21, 2026 that it signed a cooperation agreement with the Municipality of Campana to coordinate transport control and enforcement actions in the Buenos Aires province city.

According to the official announcement, the agreement was signed during a meeting between Maximiliano Patti, CNRT’s executive director, and Sebastián Abella, Campana’s mayor. The stated goal is to improve the efficiency and safety of passenger and freight transport within the municipality.

Why Campana matters here

CNRT described Campana as a strategic locality because of its industrial and logistics activity. That places the agreement in a sensitive mobility setting, where passenger travel and freight movement linked to local activity overlap.

For residents and users, the announcement does not by itself mean fare, route or frequency changes. What is confirmed is a cooperation framework between the national regulator and the municipality to organize future enforcement actions.

What CNRT checks

CNRT’s institutional page says the agency oversees national-jurisdiction passenger and freight road transport. Its duties include checks at terminals, roadside operations and inspections related to drivers and services.

For passenger transport, CNRT lists national and international intercity coaches, national-jurisdiction urban buses, tourism coaches, vans and unauthorized vehicles. In Campana, the agreement aims to coordinate those capacities with the municipality, although the announcement does not specify checkpoints or an operational start date.
