A university concert in San Juan
The Orquesta de Guitarras Universitaria will perform on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at 9 p.m. in the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Philosophy, Humanities and Arts at the National University of San Juan, with free admission.
The concert is part of the Chamber Music Series run by the FFHA’s Center for Orchestral Artistic Creation. It will be conducted by Juan José Olguín, whom the university identifies as the creator of the orchestra in 2011, after he took over the Orchestral Practice - Guitar courses in the Music Department.
What is on the program
UNSJ presents the evening as a journey through baroque, romantic and Argentine music. The program includes works and arrangements associated with Salvador Bacarisse, Simone Salvetti, Francisco Tárrega, J. S. Bach, Albinoni/Giazotto and Vivaldi.
The Argentine portion includes works by Ariel Ramírez, Astor Piazzolla and Arturo Quinteros. The date adds to San Juan’s cultural agenda a university proposal centered on the guitar as a collective instrument.
