Two wins before Spain

Argentina’s senior women’s rink hockey team reached the match against Spain unbeaten at the World Skate Games Asunción 2026: it beat Switzerland 5-1 in its opener and France 6-0 in the second round, according to DeporTV and Argentina Amateur Deporte.

The Spain match was scheduled for Tuesday, October 6, at 8 p.m. The senior women’s tournament appears on the official World Skate TV schedule from October 4 to 10, 2026, as part of the World Skate Games in Asunción.

The rink became part of the story

The official event listing identifies SND Arenita and COP Arena for the senior women’s rink hockey competition. Coverage by Argentina Amateur Deporte, Deporteargentino and AS reported that matches were moved to SND Arenita after complaints about the playing surface on the opening day.

That added a sensitive issue to the opening phase: beyond maintaining performance after two wide-margin wins, Las Águilas reach the Spain match in a tournament that has had to deal with reports about playing conditions and venue changes.

A group stage moving quickly

The margins against Switzerland and France left Argentina well placed for this part of the schedule. The match against Spain is an immediate measure after a strong start and before the next rounds are settled.

For Argentine sport, Las Águilas’ campaign offers an ongoing international competition outside football’s usual calendar. The sporting focus is on whether the team can maintain the attacking level shown in its first two matches and how the tournament organization continues in Asunción.
