A new gala within a historic awards brand

The first edition of the Martín Fierro de la Música takes place on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at Tango Porteño in Buenos Aires City. The red carpet has been announced for 7:00 p.m. and the ceremony for 8:30 p.m., with broadcasts on El Nueve and the channel’s official YouTube account.

The key development is the move of a brand historically associated with television and radio into a specific music awards ceremony. TV Pública reported that APTRA is organizing this first edition dedicated to Argentina’s music sector.

Broadcast, hosts and announced live acts

The announced hosts are Hernán Drago and Edith Hermida. The gala has been presented as a televised ceremony with awards across different areas of local music production.

The scheduled live acts include Bandana, Emanero, Euge Quevedo, Ráfaga, Ángela Leiva and Los Palmeras. The format brings together a red carpet, an awards ceremony and live numbers for both television and digital audiences.

Why it matters for Argentine music

The cultural interest is not only about who wins. Creating a music branch within the Martín Fierro Awards places scenes that often move through different circuits into the same television showcase: pop, urbano, cumbia, cuarteto, tropical music, folk, tango and rock, among other categories mentioned in pre-event coverage.

TV Pública reported that María Becerra, Lali Espósito and Tini Stoessel are among the artists with the most nominations, with seven, six and five respectively. For the local industry, the gala adds another television and digital visibility space for artists, producers and other figures in Argentine music.
