An industrial launch in southwest Córdoba
The Municipality of Córdoba reported on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, the launch of the Renault Niagara at the Santa Isabel plant in Córdoba city. The official communication presented the pickup as a locally made vehicle designed for the Latin American market.
The news matters beyond the vehicle itself: it brings Santa Isabel, in the city’s southwest, back into the discussion about industry, technical work and production chains outside the Buenos Aires metropolitan area. The municipality also said local and provincial authorities attended.
What it means for the plant
At the launch, the Niagara was placed within Santa Isabel’s production history, which the municipal communication linked to 35 models over the plant’s lifetime. The same source described the project as part of a five-year process of work and planning.
The immediate background is the investment announced on September 17, 2024: according to Argentina.gob.ar, Renault Argentina then reported a 350 million dollar plan to produce a new half-ton pickup at Santa Isabel. That official communication already projected production with a strong export outlook.
A factory with Córdoba memory
Santa Isabel is not a new plant suddenly appearing on the map. Renault’s institutional page recalls that it was founded in 1955 by IKA, marked 70 years of uninterrupted production in 2025 and has produced more than 3.5 million vehicles.
The Niagara launch turns that investment announcement into a concrete chapter for the city: an active industrial line, a Córdoba-made pickup and a project presented with a regional outlook for Latin America.
