Who can enter Aeroparque
Aeroparque Jorge Newbery will have restricted access on Sunday, November 8 and Tuesday, November 10 because of the arrival of Pope Leo XIV in the country, according to La Nación. Only passengers with a flight and airport staff will be able to enter the terminal. Flights will run normally, but the crowds of faithful and the security checks will slow down access.
People who plan to see someone off or pick someone up will not be able to go in, so the recommendation is to agree on a meeting point outside. According to Infobae, the Pontiff's plane lands on Sunday the 8th at 4:30 pm, coming from Montevideo. Goodbyes should happen outside the terminal, especially on that first day.
Sunday the 8th: how to get there
For Sunday, La Nación advises using the North end, because the South end will concentrate traffic. There will also be airspace restrictions at certain hours, so it is worth asking the airline directly about the status of your flight.
Minuto Uno adds that from Sunday the 8th to Tuesday the 10th some flights could change their schedule because of the Pope's arrival and his trip to Córdoba. Coming from the north, you can use the Scalabrini Ortiz bridge, Avenida Intendente Güiraldes and Avenida Lugones. Coming from the south, you can take the Paseo del Bajo and the Illia highway, and exit onto Avenida Sarmiento toward Costanera Rafael Obligado.
Tuesday the 10th: closures on Avenida Sarmiento
On Tuesday the 10th, according to La Nación, the Pontiff travels to Córdoba in the morning and returns to Buenos Aires in the afternoon. The restriction at Aeroparque is repeated: only passengers with a flight and staff get in, with no companions.
That day Avenida Sarmiento is closed in both directions, from the airport's emergency exit to the Monumento a los Españoles, so another route has to be planned. Infobae places the monument in Palermo, where Avenida del Libertador and Avenida Sarmiento meet.
Ezeiza, tolls and transport
On Wednesday the 11th the Pontiff says farewell from Ezeiza airport. La Nación places the ceremony at 2 pm and warns of possible delays at the access roads; Infobae sets it at 1:30 pm, with the departure to Lima at 2 pm.
According to Minuto Uno, light vehicles do not pay tolls on the Illia highway or the Paseo del Bajo until Wednesday the 11th at 2 pm, with TelePASE required, and motorcycles cannot use the Paseo del Bajo. The site also reports that 33 bus lines are rerouted and that from Sunday afternoon the 8th the frequency of 116 lines is increased.
On the subway, that Sunday the 8th the service will run at Sunday frequency, with shortened routes and several stations closed from midday, according to Minuto Uno.
Infobae reports that national-jurisdiction buses run at weekday frequency throughout the visit, starting Sunday the 8th at 6 pm, and that trains keep a working-day schedule on Monday the 9th, Tuesday the 10th and Wednesday the 11th, despite the holidays. In addition, the 3 de Febrero and Lisandro de la Torre stations are closed for boarding and alighting from 6 pm this Saturday the 7th until Thursday the 12th, for security reasons.

To get to Aeroparque these days, leave earlier than usual, because checks and traffic can delay you. La Nación suggests using public transport, rental cars or ride apps, and checking the state of the access roads before leaving.
The dates with restrictions at Aeroparque are Sunday, November 8 and Tuesday, November 10, with access only for passengers and staff. If someone is with you, the goodbye happens outside the terminal. Check with your airline for any schedule changes.
